Call for Abstract

The German-Chinese Youth Forum (GCYF) is a platform for sharing knowledge and facilitating idea exchanges and collaborations between German and Chinese young generations. GCYF is a non-profit organization that initiated by the German-Chinese Academic Center (DCAD) and Dalian University of Technology (DUT). The members of GCYF organizing committee come from prestigious German and Chinese universities, research institutes, associations and enterprises.

The German-Chinese Youth Forum 2019 Summit (GCYF2019) will be held from August 19^th to 24^th in Heidelberg Germany. In the context of globalization, the GCYF2019 aims at promoting effective internationalization of German and Chinese Higher Education.

Theme and Topics

The theme of the GCYF2019 is “Globalization: Challenges and Opportunities for the Internationalization of German and Chinese Universities”. The topics are including, but not limited to:

• Internationalization policies and practices of German and Chinese universities;
• The effects of higher education internationalization on the further development of college students;
• The future of higher educational internationalization: from the perspective of undergraduates;
• The role of international associations and enterprises in the internationalization of higher education;
• The role of student associations in the internationalization of higher education;
• The role of student leaders in the internationalization of universities;
• The enlightenment of Bologna Process on Chinese higher education;
• The enlightenment of Erasmus Program on the internationalization of Chinese universities;
• Benefits of “Belt and Road” Initiative: from the perspective of German and Chinese universities.

Financial Support

A limited amount of financial support will be granted by DCAD, preferentially to outstanding young leaders and college students invited by the GCYF Organizing Committee to support their attendance of the GCYF2019.
Such financial support includes: 1) Registration fee;  2) Five days accommodation in Heidelberg (Only for participants come from China);  3) Meal package;  4) Public transportation costs within Germany.

Important dates
June 30^th, 2019: Deadline for early-bird registration;

July 15^th, 2019: Deadline for abstracts submission;

July 15^th, 2019: Deadline for registration;

July 30^th, 2019: Notification of acceptance.

Participation of GCYF2019 is free of charge for students (early-bird). You only need to cover your own travel, meals and accommodation.

Registration and contact information

Registration opens on June 15^th, 2019 and ends on July 15^th, 2019. There is NO last-minute registration at the conference venue.
